Ingredients

  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • ½ cup Brown Sugar
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • ¾ cup All-Purpose Flour
  • ½ cup Cocoa Powder unsweetened
  • ½ tsp Salt:
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder

For the Ganache:

  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • ½ cup Heavy Cream

For the Topping:

  • ¼ cup Rainbow Sprinkles or Candy-Coated Chocolates

Step 1: Prepare the Brownie Base

  • Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  • Create Batter: Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Cool: Let the brownies cool completely in the pan.

Step 2: Make the Ganache

  • Heat Cream: Warm the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it begins to simmer (do not boil).
  • Combine with Chocolate: Pour the hot cream over the chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes, then stir until smooth.

Step 3: Assemble the Cosmic Brownies

  • Spread Ganache: Pour the ganache over the cooled brownies and spread evenly with a spatula.
  • Add Toppings: Sprinkle the rainbow sprinkles or candy-coated chocolates evenly over the ganache.
  • Chill: Refrigerate for 1 hour to set the ganache before slicing.
