For the Brownie Base:
- ¾ cup Unsalted Butter melted
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- ½ cup Brown Sugar
- 3 large Eggs
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- ¾ cup All-Purpose Flour
- ½ cup Cocoa Powder unsweetened
- ½ tsp Salt:
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
For the Ganache:
- 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- ½ cup Heavy Cream
For the Topping:
- ¼ cup Rainbow Sprinkles or Candy-Coated Chocolates
Step 1: Prepare the Brownie Base
Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
Create Batter: Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cool: Let the brownies cool completely in the pan.
Step 2: Make the Ganache
Heat Cream: Warm the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it begins to simmer (do not boil).
Combine with Chocolate: Pour the hot cream over the chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes, then stir until smooth.
Step 3: Assemble the Cosmic Brownies
Spread Ganache: Pour the ganache over the cooled brownies and spread evenly with a spatula.
Add Toppings: Sprinkle the rainbow sprinkles or candy-coated chocolates evenly over the ganache.
Chill: Refrigerate for 1 hour to set the ganache before slicing.
-
Use High-Quality Chocolate: For the best flavor, choose high-quality cocoa powder and chocolate chips.
-
Don’t Overbake: Slightly underbaking ensures the brownies stay fudgy.
-
Room Temperature Ingredients: This helps create a smoother batter.
-
Customize Toppings: Swap out sprinkles for nuts, caramel drizzle, or crushed cookies.
-
Slice with Precision: Use a sharp knife warmed under hot water for clean, even slices.
