- 4 salmon fillets
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 2 eggs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Optional: panko breadcrumbs herbs (paprika, garlic powder, dill), lemon wedges
Cut the salmon fillets into bite-sized pieces.
Marinate the salmon pieces with salt, pepper, and spices for at least 30 minutes.
In one bowl, mix flour, cornmeal (or breadcrumbs), and chosen spices.
In another bowl, beat the eggs.
Dredge the salmon pieces in the flour mixture, dip in beaten eggs, and coat again in the flour mixture.
For Pan-Frying: Heat a few tablespoons of oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Cook the salmon bites for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
For Deep-Frying: Heat oil in a deep fryer or pot to 350°F. Fry the salmon bites in batches for 3-4 minutes until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
For Air Frying: Preheat air fryer to 400°F. Lightly spray salmon bites with cooking spray. Cook in a single layer for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through
- Ensure salmon pieces are dry before coating to prevent the coating from falling off.
- For extra crunch, use panko breadcrumbs.
- Adjust spices and herbs according to your preference.
- Serve with dipping sauces like tartar sauce, garlic aioli, or spicy mayo.
