For the Base
- 2 cups watermelon diced into ½-inch cubes
- 2 cups ripe papaya diced into ½-inch cubes
- 2 ripe bananas sliced
- 2 cups fresh pineapple diced into ½-inch cubes
- 1 mango optional, diced into ½-inch cubes
- 2 cups ice cubes
For the Liquid
- 4 cups Colombiana soda or substitute with Sprite/7-Up
- Optional: 1 cup fresh orange juice
Optional Garnishes
- Fresh mint leaves
- Lime wedges
- Extra fruit pieces for garnish
Preparation
Wash all fruits thoroughly under cool running water
Peel and remove seeds from all fruits as needed
Cut all fruits into uniform ½-inch cubes (except bananas, which should be sliced)
Chill all ingredients, including the soda
Assembly
In a large glass pitcher, combine all the diced fruits
Add ice cubes to the fruit mixture
Gently pour the chilled Colombiana soda (or substitute) over the fruits
If using, add the orange juice
Stir gently to combine, being careful not to mash the fruits
Let rest for 15 minutes in the refrigerator to allow flavors to meld
- Choose ripe but firm fruits for best results
- Cut fruits into similar sizes for even distribution
- Add soda just before serving to maintain carbonation
- Keep all ingredients well-chilled for best results
- For a non-carbonated version, substitute soda with fruit juice
Storage Instructions
- Prepared fruits can be stored separately in an airtight container for up to 24 hours
- Once combined with soda, consume within 2-3 hours for best taste
- Do not freeze
