Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 15x10-inch jelly roll pan or a 9x13-inch baking pan for thicker bars.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients: In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, beat softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
  • Add Wet Ingredients: Add vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Combine Dry and Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing well. Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Spread Dough in Pan: Spread the cookie dough evenly in the prepared pan.
  • Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into bars

Notes

  • Use different types of chocolate chips or add nuts for variety.
  • For a gluten-free version, substitute the flour with a gluten-free blend.
