Ingredients
  

For the Filling:

  • 2 29 oz cans sliced peaches in juice (or 8 cups fresh peaches, sliced)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Topping:

  • 1 15.25 oz box yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup 1 stick butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans optional

Instructions
 

Preheat and Prep

  • Set oven to 350°F (175°C)
  • Grease 9x13 inch baking dish

Prepare Peaches

  • Drain peaches, reserve 1/2 cup juice
  • Place peaches in baking dish
  • Add cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla
  • Stir gently to combine

Add Topping

  • Sprinkle entire box of cake mix evenly over peaches
  • Pour melted butter over cake mix
  • Sprinkle with brown sugar
  • Add pecans if using

Bake

  • Bake at 350°F for 45-50 minutes
  • Top should be golden brown
  • Let cool 10-15 minutes before serving

Notes

  • For fresh peaches: peel, slice, and toss with 1/4 cup sugar before using
  • Ensure butter covers all dry cake mix to avoid powdery spots
  • If top browns too quickly, cover with foil
  • Can be made up to 24 hours ahead and reheated
